Tiela, who holds a Bachelor degree in biology from the University of Indonesia, Jakarta, started her career at WWF-Indonesia in 2011 as Marine Liaison Officer. In 2014, her work focused more on science as Marine Science and Knowledge Management Officer. She played a role in the management of science related to Marine Conservation Areas, including supporting the provision of literature needed by colleagues in the field and providing training for capacity building to support staff for the achievement of the target organization. She also ensured the data collected was well-documented and stored properly. In 2019, her role expanded to include terrestrial areas as Wildlife and Habitat Research Specialist, focusing on species and habitat protection. Now she is continuing her master's in Sustainable Development at KU Leuven, Belgium and at the same time progressing her new NGO, Yayasan PADMI Mandiri, as one of the founders together with six other exceptional colleagues.
